26-08-2013 16:23 - An open letter to Mr. Barack Husain Obama, President of the United States of America
His Excellency,
Mr. Barack Husain Obama,
President of the United States of America,
Washington DC,
Your Excellency,
Do not rush into a war with Syria without having the full details from the UN Inspectors to determine if indeed it was the Syrian government that use the chemical gas on the people.
If you attack Syria without having an international mandate or without having evidence on the chemical issue, the republicans will impeach you. This is what they are trying to do. Take precaution. Do not listen to those beating the drums of war. If you fall into their trap, they might then have the possibility to do what they’ve been planning all along.
If you and your NATO partners attack Syria while the United Nations Inspectors haven’t given the results of their investigation to determine who indeed carried out the chemical attack on the people near Damascus, surely enough Russia will retaliate militarily because an attack on Syria is a direct attack on Russia. They will never allow such a thing to happen. It will be a global confrontation.
The security of the world might then be in jeopardy. On the other hand, Iran, China, and other countries who are on the side of Syria. Including the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, will intervene. The whole of the Middle East including countries in the Persian Gulf will also be affected. This is what I and other people craving for peace do not want to happen. We should live in peace and be in harmony with one another.
Your Excellency, military action is not the solution for the Syrian crisis which was orchestrated by foreign countries inorder to eliminate the resistance against Israel because if Syria falls, Hezbollah will fall militarily as well as Hamas because Syria is the champion of resistance against Israel. Iran, likewise Russia, China and other countries will never allow such a thing to happen. There is no benefit in such thing but destruction on all side. Again, the Syrian problem has no military solution but diplomacy.
I would like you to use diplomacy to solve the Syrian issue. Countries financing and giving military aid to the insurgents, which is a war crime had justice exists, do not want peace. All they want is for Syrian President to be overthrown. If they succeed, the map of the Middle East will be no longer be the same.
Your Excellency, we the aged and middle aged, likewise our children and grand children and future generations need peace Remember that peace and change were your slogans during your campaign in 2009. America, as you know is based on peace and friendship to all other nations. Such was the vision of George Washington who fought heroically against the British and he won the battle.
America was then established as a nation whose main criteria should be peace and friendship to other nations in the world. Again, coming from a Muslim background, I implore you to use your good office to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis because the people have suffered and are still suffering.
Foreign governments sponsoring the insurgents do not care about the suffering of the Syrian people. All they want is for President Assad to leave power. President Assad will not remain in power forever, he will surely leave but according to political analysts, he will not leave power through foreign pressure or war.
With Russia, China, Iran and other countries on his side, President Assad will continue the war for as long as it takes which will be detriment to peace. Again, I implore you not to use force on Syria as such a move will spark a global war. Syria is not like Libya, Irak, Afghanistan or Kosovo.
I am imploring you as a younger African brother not to listen to the war-mongering republicans who are seeking ways to impeach you if you go into war with Syria without international mandate. The UN Inspectors are now doing their work to know who actually carried the chemical attack near Damascus. With unbiased results obtain, the world might then know those who carried the chemical attack on the people.
Again, my dear younger African brother, do not go into war because of the war-mongering republicans who are dancing and beating the drums of war. It is a trap.
Best wishes
Yours sincerely
